From Mel to Kul

After a delayed departure from Melbourne airport due to technical errors in the plane, we have arrived in Kuala Lumpur. The flight was my first international flight, and it was pretty good. We flew with Emirates and I got to watch the Woody Allen movie 'Midnight In Paris' for on-flight entertainment. I don't know if it was a good movie because I kept falling in and out of sleep while it played on repeat for five hours.

The view flying into KL was a little saddening. Palm plantations cover the land around the city as far the eye can see. And from what I've been told, the sight is similar flying into Kota Kinabalu.

Now Steph and I are scrambling to learn more Malaysian before leaving for KK in a couple of hours. The airport has so far presented no real challenge to try out our language skills.
